1. Instructional theory is a design -oriented where it provides direct guidance for practioners as well as being a method of instruction that can be used to facilitate what is to be learned by the learners. Next, the theory also includes component methods and is probabilistic rather than deterministic.

2. Instructional design model is a set of guidelines that can assist instructional designers approach, structure and design a course according to instructional design principles. It consist of Addie model, Assure model, Gagne's 9 events, Merrill's Principle and the Kemp Instructional design model.

Instructional design is an arrangement of information to create an effective instruction while instructional theory is an approach of explanation.
Instructional design model is help designers to learn theory to apply it in a real world.

Instructional theory is a theory which supports post industrial education and training. It should be learner - centered rather than teacher centered. It also involved learning by doing utilize tasks that are of inherent interest to the learner. Instructional design is the introduction and subsequent "sorting out" of the various learning theories and associated instructional design strategy.
Instructional design model is a provide conceptual tools to visualize, direct and manage process for creating high - quality teaching and learning material.

Instructional theory in education should be able to explicitly explain how teaching should be done and how these guideline can help students to understand better. The good theories should have these characteristics;
1) design oriented; a direct guidance that outline how to achieve learning goals
2) identify methods and situation; methods of learning should be tailored to environment and situations
3) components methods; instruction methods should be detailed with specific components
4) probabilistics; theory may consider the real variables that are unable to be controlled.
Instructional design is the process by which how the learning products are being designed, developed and delivered. There are many products instruments such as outline courses, instruction manuals. video tutorials etc
Instructional Design Model, there…
1. Instructional Design is the intentional planning and creation of materials used to provide knowledge to learners. Instructional Theory is a set of prescriptions describing what the instruction should be like when the product is completed. Instructional Theory “offers explicit guidance on how to better help people learn and develop”.
2. Instructional Design Model is used to define the activities that will guide the development of e-Learning projects. It allows you to communicate the purpose and reason behind a strategy that covers all the major components that have to be included in the course. some examples of the models are ADDIE Model, Merrill's Principles of Instruction (MPI) and Gagne's Nine Events of Instruction.
