STEM EDUCATION : EK TIER 5 MAKER TALENT DIGITAL INNOVATION

The advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and the community’s desire for digital economic growth, the demand for workers in digital technology sector becoming crucial. Aligned the aspiration of national agenda, UiTM with the establishment of Maker Talents Digital Innovation Hub play an important role in its revolution. The MTDI offers collaboration with public and private sectors, in particular with Electrical & Electronic companies, to run an educational programs with the school community in the area of STEM and along the lines of digital technology/MAKER culture.

 

The focus area is building innovative thinking through embedded systems and IoT for all.  STEM is a national agenda that many groups within UiTM itself are supporting. However, our RIG runs STEM-based activities as a service to the collaborators. The RIG has the workforce required for volunteerism to spread digital technology/MAKER culture, as envisioned by the industry linkages of the faculty. The objective of MTDI is to inculcate innovative thinking among the school community through “Maker” culture, by providing collaboration and services to strategic partners in impactful and meaningful approach.

 

The formulations STEM of this research are to gain a variety of problem solving skills and to meet the needs of society within this 21st century, with the objective of MTDI which emphasize on framework; Internet of Things (IoT). To increase students’ interest in cultivate STEM literacy, many initiatives and efforts have been launched and implemented by UiTM.
